AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 27:46 About the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud [agonized] voice, "ELI, ELI, LAMA SABACHTHANI?" that is, "MY GOD, MY GOD, WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?" [Ps 22:1] |
Bible Question: If Christ knew that he was going to die, but he also knew at the same time that he would rise again from the grave and overcome death, then was it really that difficult for him to die for us? I know his death was for the atonement of our sins, but how was his death any harder than our own death? |
Bible Answer: The thing that made Jesus death tough for Him is the fact that when He took on our sins the Father left Him, shattering a fellowship since eternity. In this we see Jesus love for us that He died for our sin took the full brunt of the wrath of God for us. Praise GOD! |
