Subject: Are we reclining with Him, in love? |
Bible Note: Hi Mommapbs, Do you think that we can be made like Him? He is too high, we can not attain His stature. Paul in Romans 15:13-19 talks about joy and peace in believing and the power of the Holy Spirit. And he claims to be ministering as a "priest" [sic] the gospel of God. But I go with the NKJ for Hebrews 2:17 where Christ becomes a "High Priest" in things pertaining to (God), to make propitiation for the sins of the people. He becomes a High Priest, while perhaps we can only minister as priests [sic] of the gospel. Just as He is the Light of the world and we become lights of the world. Just as He is the Son of God and we are sons of God. We can not be made like Him, can we? Yet I think that we desire to know Him and desire to walk in the same manner as (He) walked. Keeping our minds on the things of the (Spirit) and the things pertaining to (God). The parentheses are mine for comparisons. 1 John 2:2, "and He (Himself) is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 The one who says, "I have come to know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; 5 but whoever keeps His word, in him the love of God/ has truly been perfected. By this we know that we are in Him; 6 the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as (He) walked." Hebrews 2:17, "Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, that He/ might become a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to (God), to make propitiation for the sins of the people." Romans 15:17, "Therefore in Christ Jesus I have found reason for boasting in things pertaining to (God). 18 For I will not presume to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me, resulting in the obedience of the Gentiles by word and deed, 19 in the power of signs and wonders, in the power of the Spirit; so that from Jerusalem and round about as far as Illyricum I have fully preached the gospel of Christ." Romans 8:5, "For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Sirit, the things of the (Spirit)." God's Son was the propitiation for sin, and as an offering for sin, He/ condemned sin in the flesh. And because of that we walk according to the Spirit. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren, Amen. Galatians 6:18 From the heart, Ray |
