Subject: inheavenseyes, 2300 and cleansing? |
Bible Note: inheavenseyes, What denomination do you belong to? ---- I got that you wrote "Christ went to Heaven for our restoration", from the following, in particular, the last sentence: "Thank you for u'r answer though we're going far from the tribulation and here you started about the Cleansing of the Sanctuary. Let me ask if the Lord needed to give up all the power of Heaven for man to be restored then is it impossible then that there's cleansing need in Heaven? the cleansing is not for Heaven but for our restoration." How did I misread you? ---- Did you answer "Though your question is fair, does heaven need cleansing or how could a Sanctuary in Heaven need cleansing?" by quoting Hebrew 9:23. This verse says "copies of the things in the heavens" (NASB) ... notice that it says "heavens", in the plural. Hebrews 8:5 is about the earthly sanctuary and if you read the context (chapters 8-10), you'll see the Christ is better. ---- I'll use the NIV about sanctuary ... Hebrews 8:1-5 1The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, 2and who serves in the sanctuary, the true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man. 3Every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, and so it was necessary for this one also to have something to offer. 4If he were on earth, he would not be a priest, for there are already men who offer the gifts prescribed by the law. 5They serve at a sanctuary that is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: "See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain."[Exo 25:40] 6But the ministry Jesus has received is as superior to theirs as the covenant of which he is mediator is superior to the old one, and it is founded on better promises. ... Hebrews 9:1-2 1Now the first covenant had regulations for worship and also an earthly sanctuary. 2A tabernacle was set up. In its first room were the lampstand, the table and the consecrated bread; this was called the Holy Place. ... verse 3-5 go on to describe it more. ... Hebrews 9:23-28 23It was necessary, then, for the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. 24For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God's presence. 25Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27Just as man is destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. ... Exodus 15:17 You will bring them in and plant them on the mountain of your inheritance- the place, O LORD , you made for your dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, your hands established.
