Bible Note: Hi Loran, Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee. 2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city. 3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle. 4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. This passage speaks of the Day of the Lord, that time of judgment of the earth characturized by total upheaval, cataclysmic devastation, and the destruction of the world system. This has not happened yet, so must be future. In that day, the LORD will stand on the Mount of Olives. This seems clear to me that yes, the Mount of Olives will exist at that time. All of the locations spoken of in these end times prophecies will exist. The Mount of Olives, Jerusalem, the Plain of Jezreel, Megiddo, Bozrah, it will all be there. Bozrah, of course, is no longer called that, but the location exists, as Busayra, Jordan. There are a couple of other passages that could be used to refer to this, but not beyond what has already been offered to you. One clear statement in scripture seems adequate to me to establish a Biblical truth. Are you looking for something beyond this? Where are you going with this? Love in Christ, Mark |
