Bible Question: FTimA you did not address my question about the Biblical differentiation between the soul and the mind, you just made an assertion without any backup. Nor did you attempt to include the spirit in your summation of man's being. |
Bible Answer: Dictionary.com defines the soul, in this context, as "The animating and vital principle in humans, credited with the faculties of thought, action, and emotion and often conceived as an immaterial entity. The spiritual nature of humans, regarded as immortal, separable from the body at death, and susceptible to happiness or misery in a future state. The disembodied spirit of a dead human. I cannot find a scripture in the bible that specifically defines what a soul is. The spirit, the soul, the mind, the heart, these to me are all parts of a whole. If you want a definitive answer from the bible I would recommend an exhaustive concordance. |
