AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 2:2 "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we have seen His star in the east and have come to worship Him." [Num 24:17; Jer 23:5; Zech 9:9] |
Bible Question:
Were there really 3 wisemen, or, is it just part of a metaphor for something else? Why is there only one mention of the magi visiting the infant Jesus in the Bible? Thank you for your reply. |
Bible Answer: Its a true story. Matt 2:2 "Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him." Obviously the star appeared the night Christ was born. The number of wise men is actually unknown. As you read the account you see it does not give the number. Somewhere along the way three became the popular number. Merry Christmas. |
