Bible Question:
Is seventy times seven, mean anything? Why not 100 times 10, you know? Could you please answer me Thank you Edwin Funes |
Bible Answer: Hi, Edwin Funes! As Steve mentioned, it is not a matter of quantity, but of practice... how many times have we transgressed against God (through thought, action or omission)? If God were to keep a log and have a preset limit of forgiveness, who could stand in front of Him? Jesus taught us to forgive others their trespasses against us as we ask the Father to forgive our trespasses against Him (which includes all transgressions agains God and man)--there is no magical formula: God forgives us (Isaiah 1:18-20) when we come to Him and He expects us to forgive our fellow human beings just as readily and just as lovingly!
