AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 18:22 Jesus answered him, "I say to you, not up to seven times, but seventy times seven. |
Bible Question:
Is seventy times seven, mean anything? Why not 100 times 10, you know? Could you please answer me Thank you Edwin Funes |
Bible Answer: Hello Edwin, The direct question was asked if seven times was enough. According to the Talmud, this was enough. After that no forgiveness was required. Jesus' response is a superlative intending to demonstrate that there was no end to the number of times. He could have said 7000 times 7000, but what He said was sufficient to make the point. Steve |
