NASB | Matthew 17:4 Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here; if You wish, I will make three tabernacles here, one for You, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah." |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Matthew 17:4 Then Peter began to speak and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good and delightful and auspicious that we are here; if You wish, I will put up three [sacred] tents here--one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." |
Bible Question (short): Wasn't it Peter, on earth, who knew? |
Question (full): Yes, I agree there were special circumstances around their deaths, but the text seems to say this occurred on earth. They still had their same names. Also the recognition was on the part of Peter, who was obviously still in an earthly state. This verse gives no verification to the state of our souls in heaven. |
