Bible Question: What "eternal" purpose did John the Baptist's beheading serve? Does history show that God had a higher purpose to his premature death? |
Bible Answer: Hello Johnnyboy The relationship and outcome of John/Jesus was very similar to that of Jonathan/David. In each case there was a forerunner who understood that the one coming after is anointed and has a greater calling. Also, the forerunners had a strong and loyal following. Therefore God removed the forerunner that there not be any schisms and full loyalty be given to His anointed. Steve |
