Subject: John the Batist's Beheading? |
Bible Note: Hi Scott, You have some good thoughts here. The gospel of John was written that we might know that we have eternal life but it was indeed written also to downplay the importance of John the baptist. Your thought about "the full weight of the gospel" is why I capitalize the "Him" of John 1:7. I notice that you are not concerned about capitalization but if you know me you know that that is my "preoccupation" so to speak. John 1:7, "He [This one] came for a witness, that he might bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through *Him." John came that he might bear witness of the Light. He was a prophet who bore witness of the Prophet. Hear Him. (And see Him) From the heart, Ray |
