Bible Question (short): Jewish "Inclusive Reckoning" practice |
Question (full): My question deals with the Biblical scholars inconsistent use of the Jewish "inclusive reckoning" practice. Biblical scholars use the Jewish "inclusive reckoning" method in their exegesis of Matthew 12:40. Biblical scholars do not use the Jewish "inclusive reckoning" method in their exegesis of Exodus 12:19. Since the context of Matthew 12:40 also includes reckoning of Biblical days in Jonah's time, (Old Testament), why would they employ "inclusive reckoning" for understanding Jonah's time in the belly of the great fish, and not for the seven days that leaven not be found in the houses in Exodus 12:19?
