Bible Question: Question: A man approached me for marriage that is a SAVED SINCERE CHRISTIAN who did horrible things in his own confession in the past. rape, armed robbery, kidnapping. I was the original person who started this chain and want to know if I can come under headship of a man who in the past has done horrible things. I look at it in terms of eternity...is his sin that has been confessed to God and that he paid for inthis life in prison now released all paid for? I am confused about forgiveable sin and unforgiveable sin. |
Bible Answer: Greetings Ourfathersheart! Mommapbs provided you with an excellent answer. I would like to add one point though. While it is true that the sins this man can be, and apparently have been, forgiven, I would urge you to do several things before you commit to marriage. 1) First of all, pray and seek God's will about this issue. 2) Secondly, seek some good pre-maritial counseling prior to marrying him. You need to be sure that these 'sins' are truly in his past. 3) Give yourself some time to make sure that he is for real. God most certainly can forgive this man, but you must also protect yourself and make sure that his faith is geniune. p.s. - If it is not too personal, what did you mean when you said that you were 'the original person who started this chain'?
