Subject: what is "blaspheme"? |
Bible Note: Dear blessedcookie, Greetings in Jesus' name, and welcome to the forum! Please! The Holy Spirit is a He, not an it. He is the third Person of the Godhead, therefore God. Indeed, the Bible states very clearly that blaspheming the Holy Spirit is an unforgivable sin. Also, the Bible speaks that those in Christ Jesus are sealed unto Him. Some would say, therefore, that it is impossible for a Christian to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, and that any who say things against Him were never saved. I find this to be a scary doctrine, allowing us to 'disown' from Christ any that don't meet OUR standards. I, personally, prefer to say that it is 'nigh impossible' to lose your salvation, and give all the hypothetical situations to the Lord, trusting HIS judgement. If it is fairly easy to blaspheme the Holy Spirit by 'grieving Him' or 'displeasing Him,' the none of us will be worthy of His gift of salvation. Blessings in Christ Jesus, charis |
