Bible Question: How can this verse [Matthew 10:22] be interpreted to mean something other than, compelling Christians to provide proper behavior in order to receive the promised Heavenly reward? |
Bible Answer: Since I believe one can walk away from their salvation, this verse says to me we must press on toward the mark which is our high calling. However there are those that believe once your saved you can do nothing to lose that salvation. Therefore to them rather than this being an admonishment this is a statement of assurance that those that are saved will endure and experience eternal salvation. It all depends from which perspective you read this. EdB |
