Bible Question: How can this verse [Matthew 10:22] be interpreted to mean something other than, compelling Christians to provide proper behavior in order to receive the promised Heavenly reward? |
Bible Answer: This verse deals more with living than with quitting. Jesus starts out in v 1 calling his disciples and in vs 5,6 and 7 sending them forth. This is the persecution of the church as we go tell others about our Lord. We shall be hated for telling others about Christ, but we must not quit. This is what Jesus meant when he said take up your cross and follow me. Matt 8: 34-35. |
