NASB | Numbers 20:11 Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came forth abundantly, and the congregation and their beasts drank. |
AMPLIFIED 2015 | Numbers 20:11 Then Moses raised his hand [in anger] and with his rod he struck the rock twice [instead of speaking to the rock as the LORD had commanded]. And the water poured out abundantly, and the congregation and their livestock drank [fresh water]. |
Subject: Why did Moses strike the rock? |
Bible Note: Steve, What is water compared to the consequences of Moses' action?? He would have gladly given up that water that 'he was blessed with' in order to have another chance to enter the Promised Land! The "point" that Moses may have been blessed himself with water (does not specifically say in Scripture) is entirely pointless and totally off the subject from the original question, Steve.
