Subject: Do we tithe on our net or gross? |
Bible Note: The purpose of the heart is to follow the Word of God because we love Him. Jesus has given us the freedom through Him, it does not mean we need to ignore the Words of the prophets. Where did Jesus say that we are not to tithe? He did not. Where did Paul say we are not to tithe? He did not. We must not get hung on the law of Moses because tithe was before then (therefore not the root and therefore cannot be cut down). 2 examples were given; Jacob and Abraham who tithed, which were before Moses. A valuable lesson that I was taught a long time ago. Becareful of those who take one verse and build a mountain on it. What do I mean? If I had to tell you, which number follows this sequence, 1? Who knows it could be anything 1 or 1000 or -2. If I said, which number follows this sequence, 3, 9? It could be 3 plus6 equals 9 therefore 9 plus 6 equals 15 or it could be multiples of 3, 3,9,27 or it could be 3,9,3 or it could be 3,9,81 etc. So even with two numbers in series the truth cannot be determined. What happens if there are a string of number like 3,9,27,81? the next one can be determined easierly. If you really get down to it, there are more supporting tithe than not. Thanks for the insights anyway. This is my last response on this topic. One day we can ask the Lord in Heaven. :-). Love in Christ |
