Bible Question:
The following two verses sound too good to be true. But, I know God always keeps His word. The church has claimed these verses if we are willing to be faithful in our tithes and offerings. It will mean great sacrifice but the returns sound worth it. How literally may I take these verses??? The verses are: Malachi 3:10 and Luke 6:38 Thanks |
Bible Answer: First of all this is talking about food..agriculture. You therefore can't take it literally. God chooses to bless those on his own accord. We have to remember at that time the nation of israel still did not trust completely in God. Even after all the miracles and directions he guided them in. Job 41:11 says Who has a claim against me that I must pay? Everything under heaven belongs to me. God rewards those for being faithful to him...and it is not always in the form of money. It shouldn't be monetary compensation all the time. The greatest reward you have is SALVATION! And that was free! God also says in Proverbs 22:2 that the rich and poor have one thing in common...he is the maker of them both. So as you can see God does all the blessing...and even if you are poor by todays standards and are a believer...you are still RICH in our Lord JESUS CHRIST. Mj |
