AMPLIFIED 2015 | Malachi 2:16 "For I hate divorce," says the LORD, the God of Israel, "and him who covers his garment with wrong and violence," says the LORD of hosts. "Therefore keep watch on your spirit, so that you do not deal treacherously [with your wife]." |
Bible Question (short): leave when violent..? |
Question (full): I also agree with Pastor Glenn about the 3 things that free a person from marriage; adultery, death of spouse, unfaithful husband leaving. How does 1 Cor 7:10 -11 allows a person to leave when the other is violent? Doesn't verse 10 say not to leave? I feel saddened by all those who are in a violent relationship! The husband should treat the wives like they would be treated Eph. 5:25,28-29. Wives are suppose to be submissive. Eph 5:22 This is why one needs to be carefull when selecting who to marry. I believe one can remarry if tthe divorce is result of unfaithfullness. |
