Subject: Who or what does He give up? |
Bible Note: Greetings Mommapbs! That is an interesting question.. :-) Mark 1:15 states, "..and saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel." [NASB] Revelation 12:10 states, "Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, "Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren has been thrown down, he who accuses them before our God day and night." [NASB] So, is the Kingdom of God "at hand", or will it come in some future time? The answer is that both are true! Both 'Kingdom of God' and 'Kingdom of Heaven' are spoken of in the present and future tenses by Jesus in the Gospels, and both are mysterious (Matt. 13:11; Luke 8:10) to those who do not believe. Both are not easily entered into by those who are 'rich' (Luke 18:25; Matt. 19:23). Blessings to you, Makarios |
