Bible Question:  Is their any person that has ever lived, (other than Jesus) who we could say has been 100 percent accurate in his or her interpretation of Scripture.

Bible Answer:  I believe we, including you, can get the correct interpretation of the Scripture. I think most people get the words intepretation and application mixed up.

There is only one interpretation of the Scripture and in order to get the interpretation, you have to look at why the author was writing it and who he was writing it to. You have to understand the history of the time period and what was going on when the author says what he says. There are times you may have to look up the meaning of the original greek word to get a better understanding.

There are many applications. I believe this is where people get confused as the interpretation. In the application, one person may read a verse and feel that God is speaking to him about something personal, while another person may see something totally different and apply that same verse in a different area of his life.

I hope this has been helpful. Keep growing in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
