Bible Note: Hi Kalos, yes, I agree with what you wrote, there is no mention of any age of consent, yet when a census was taken wasn't the age of 20 important (Ex 30:14)? My response to this young lady was more is keeping with the spirit of the law than the letter. The law was given so that we would recognize sin - can we recognize sin only in 613 ways? I think Paul addresses this issue with believers when he tells us that everything is lawful, but not all things are beneficial, nor does everything edify. 1 Cor 10:23-33. The relationship that this young woman was considering may be "lawful" but would is be profitable to both? Would it edify both? I'm wondering how many of us "mature" believers are as concerned as this young woman about what God thinks about OUR choices? I am humbled by her. Blessings, mommapbs |
