Bible Question: There is often a phrase that Clergy/Ministers use at grave side services and it is "Ashes to Ashes, Dust to Dust. I have not found this phrase in the Bible. I would like to know where this phrase came from? |
Bible Answer: (Genesis 2:7) And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. You have also to be careful of what most clergy say, as much of it is "the Tradition of the Elders" and may not be Scriptural! Similar to the cartoon, "Vegi-Tales!" which is Only Stories about the Bible, often leaving out Important Truth! On thought for you, instead of "looking for Answers" may I suggest "looking for Principles of how God has dealt with Mankind? ALSO: (2Timothy 2:15-16) Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of Truth.(2Tim 2:16) But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. |
