Bible Question: is there anywhere in the new testament where it says you cant have body piercings and why not |
Bible Answer: Leviticus 19 refers to not making cuts in the body "For the Dead". That is probably referring to cutting yourself as a sign of mourning. Tatooing could also be about avoiding infections. The verse before it says, 27 " 'Do not cut the hair at the sides of your head or clip off the edges of your beard. These are all Old Testament items which had a legitimate reason for the people of that time. These are hard arguments because we want to be respectful of our bodies. We will find out someday the truths of some of these issues. What about just piercing our ears? Almost every woman has that done :-) |
