AMPLIFIED 2015 | Joel 2:13 Rip your heart to pieces [in sorrow and contrition] and not your garments." Now return [in repentance] to the LORD your God, For He is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness [faithful to His covenant with His people]; And He relents [His sentence of] evil [when His people genuinely repent]. |
Subject: Where in the Bible ? |
Bible Note: Hi graceful, That is where I was led when comparing these verses. Especially Hebrews 10:14, "For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified." Hebrews 10:10, "By this will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all." We are saved through the blood of Jesus. That is where one should be led in considering these things. Hebrews 10:36, "For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. 37 'For yet in a very little whle, He wo is coming will come, and will not delay. But (My) righteous one shall live by faith; And if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.' 39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul." Joel 2:12,13, "Yet even now," declared the Lord, 'Return to Me/ with all your heart, And with fasting, weeping, and mourning; And rend your hearts and not your garments." Now return to the Lord your God, For (He) is gracious and compassionate, Slow to anger, abounding in lovingkiness, And relenting of evil." 1 Samuel 15:19, "'Why then did you not obey the voice of the Lord,/ but rushed upon the spoil and did what was evil in the sight of the Lord?' Then Saul said to Samuel, 'I did obey the voice of the Lord, and went on the mission [way] which the (Lord) sent me,..." Now we have a new and living Way. Hosea 6:1, "Come, let us return to the Lord./ For He has torn [us], but He will heal us; (He) has wounded [us], but He will bandage us. He will revive us after two days; He will raise us up on the third day that we may live before Him. 'So let us know, let us press on to know the Lord. His/ going forth is as certain as the dawn; And He will come to us like the rain, Like the spring rain watering the earth.'" Hosea 6:6, "For I delight in loyalty rather than sacrifice, And in the knowledge of God rather than burnt offerings. But like Adam they have transgressed the covenant; There they have dealt treacherously against Me./... 11 Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, When I restore the fortunes of (My) people." The parentheses and slashes are mine for comparison. Hosea 10:12, "Sow with a view to righteousness, Reap in accordance with kindness; Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord until He/ comes to rain righteousness on you." ...11:1, When Israel was a youth I loved him, And out of Egypt I called (My) son."
