AMPLIFIED 2015 | Daniel 9:11 "Yes, all Israel has transgressed Your law, even turning aside, not obeying Your voice; so the curse has been poured out on us and the oath which is written in the Law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against Him. [Lev 26:14-45; Deut 28:15-68] |
Bible Question: In Daniel 9:11 it discusses the curse to be poured out on Israel. First of all, what is the proper translation of the word here translated as curse? Could it have something to do with Islam? Then, could this be seen as a warning to the United States because of the attack of Sept. 11? |
Bible Answer: GAK1: "Curse" in Daniel 9:11 seems to be the word of choice by a number of leading translation teams. Daniel is speaking of the curses written in the Law of Moses. Read the passage in context, Daniel 9:3-19. See also Lev. 26:33 and Deut. 28:63-67. There is nothing in this passage that ties it to Islam or constitutes a warning to the United States relevant to the events of Sep. 11, 2001. And of course the chapter and verse reference in Daniel, i.e., 9:11, can only be viewed with reference to the date of 9/11 as being pure conincidence, nothing more. --Hank |
