Subject: ye are gods? ps 82:6 |
Bible Note: Hi Zsuzsi, Psalm 82:1, Ezekiel 28:1-6, 2 Thessalonians 2:4, and John 10:33-36 are excellent companion passages. Jesus would have us know that if we can call ourselves (being only men) to be mighty ones, gods, and sons of the Most High; then He being a Man would not be blaspheming to call Himself the Son of God. Of course Satan wants to take his seat [as God] in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God. 2 Thess 2:4. Also in Isaiah 14:12-14 the star of the morning, the shining one wanted to ascend above the stars of God. Isaiah 14:14, "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High." Yet we know that in Luke 10:18 Jesus was "watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning." 1) Ezekiel 28:2, "...Yet you are a man and not God/, Although you make your heart like the heart of God--" John 10:33, "The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a *Man, make Yourself/ out to be God." If a man can think highly of himself as being a ruler (god), he better have good capitalization awareness to know and appreciate that this Man, the Lord Jesus Christ is his God and Ruler.
