AMPLIFIED 2015 | Jeremiah 5:1 "Roam back and forth through the streets of Jerusalem, And look now and take note. And look in her open squares To see if you can find a man [as Abraham sought in Sodom], One who is just, who [has integrity and moral courage and] seeks truth (faithfulness); Then I will pardon Jerusalem--[for the sake of one uncompromisingly righteous person]. Subject: Why no honest, truthful person? |
Bible Note: Greetings Steve! Yes, I fear that society in general is in this same plight as well. The Lord has warned us, like Israel, and we should be convinced to turn to Him with all our hearts! But, like you've said, the key to cleaning up society in the future is in the children and helping them learn about and placing their faith in God. As you know, I'm running a separate thread on 2 Chr. 15:15 that speaks how the people turned wholeheartedly to God, even killing those who did not agree to do this (2 Chr. 15:13). Another way of looking at your question about "no honest, truthful person" is the verse in Ezekiel 22:30.. "I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one." Blessings to you, Nolan |
