Bible Question: Can God speak directly to a person or does God speak only to pastors about there congragents? |
Bible Answer: I'm thinking the Hebrews writer discussed this subject quite a bit, such as Heb 4:14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. 16 Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. The main theme throughout this Book is the idea that Christianity is better that the Law of Moses. As a matter of fact the word "better" is used at least 14 times. We have better promises, a better High Priest, a better body (being the church itself.) Hebrews 8:6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises. The bottom line on your question is the fact with Christ, we can approach Almighty God just as a person can approach a judge in court IF you've got a qualified lawyer who acts as a mediator like our High Priest does for us, God's children. |
