Bible Question: Can God speak directly to a person or does God speak only to pastors about there congragents? |
Bible Answer: God directly speaks to everyone, particularly those who have His Holy Spirit dwelling in them, it is up to us to listen. God speaks to a situation you are in or something you are praying about by making a particular verse of the Bible stand out to you, by things that happen in your life, by something another Christian might tell you, or by simply putting thoughts directly into your mind when you listen in silence during your prayer time. He might not necessarily tell you what direction He feels a church should take the way He may tell a pastor, but He will help you understand Scriptures which you have questions about, give you guidance in your own life, help you get to know Him, and also point out some sin in your life which He wants to change. When you pray, take time to let Him answer by sitting in silence and seeking His will and trying not to think about what you want Him to say but be completely open to any thought He might put in your mind. |
