Bible Question (short): What does idolatry mean to us these days |
Question (full): I would like to better understand Idolatry in the modern, western context. I recall hearing that, Idolatry is anything that takes the place of God in our life, but can't find scriptural references for that explanation. I read Psa 106:39 in the NLT which says, their love of idols was adultery in the Lord's sight - this has prompted further questioning of what idolatry means to those of us who would not dream of having, for example, a metal or stone idol statue in our home and worshipping that. |
