Bible Note: Greetings Sisterkath! We have talked about the different titles that Jesus used during His incarnation. They do not indicate, nor do they mean, there there is more than one God. However, you are ignore a word that is written in the Bible. You ignore Is. 43:10. The JW's are trying to teach you that Jesus cannot be Jehovah, therefore in John 1:1 He must be some other God. Yet, Is. 43:10 says that there is no other God besides Jehovah. This is what you ignore. The doctrine of the Trinity starts with the clear affirmation that there is only one God and then builds from there. Okay, if there is only one God, then in what why is Jesus the Son of God....? But, it starts with the affirmation that there is only one God. We cannot get to that point yet, because as of yet, you have not even admitted that there is only one God. Because Is. 43:10 does not agree with the teachings of the JW's, you redifine the meaning of the words. However, Is. 43:10 does not say that there is only one 'Almighty God'. It does not say that there is only one 'true God'. It says that there is no 'other god' period. Therefore, when John 1:1 says that Jesus is God, it cannot mean that He is anyone but Jehovah! By the way, who or what is WTBTS? :-) Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
