Subject: Explain Isaiah 54:7 verse |
Bible Note: Hi Doctrinsograce, I for one had not noticed the reference to Galatians 4:17. Thank you. In comparing Scripture to Scripture I see that the God of all the earth is the God who was calling in New Testament times, and is still calling us today. Romans 11:29, "for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable." This is from the standpoint of (God's) choice. Parentheses are mine for comparisons. Isaiah 54:5, "For your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts, And your Redeemer/ is the Holy One of Israel, Who is called the (God) of all the earth. 6 "For the Lord has called you, Like a wife forsaken and grieved in spirit, Even like a wife of one's youth when she is rejected," Says your God." Galatians 5:5, "For we through the Spirit/, by faith, are waiting for the hope of righteousness. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision means anything, but faith working through love. 7 You were running well; who hindered you from obeying the truth? 8 This persuasion did not come from (Him) who calls you."
