Subject: Explain Isaiah 54:7 verse |
Bible Note: Hi EdB, Although husbands reject and forsake their wives, it is not that way with the God of the earth, is it? Isaiah 54:5 says that "your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts,..." A companion verse for this passage I believe can be the passage concerning the Samaritan woman who had had five husbands and the one she now had was not her husband. Jesus is telling her, "Your husband is your Maker, Whose name is the Lord of hosts!" Why was He speaking to her? John 4:27. He was speaking to her to say, "For the mountains may be removed and the hills may shake, but My lovingkindness will not be removed from you, And My covenant of peace will not be shaken," Says the Lord who has compassion on you." Isaiah 54:10 The Lord is our (Redeemer) and hers; for the woman recognized Him as the (Prophet) who was to come, even the (God) of all the earth. John 4:26, "Jesus said to her, "I who speak to you am He." He is the Coming One and (He) will declare all things to us. From the heart, Ray |
