AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 53:5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. |
Bible Question:
Where in the Bible is it written by Jesus stripes we are healed? Tamara |
Bible Answer: Hi Homeschoolmom Dueteronomy 25: 3 Forty stripes he may give him and not exceed (KJV) I am sure one of the scholars will explain in better detail the method but by the blows, the strikes, the(stripes)that came from the whip the blows same as stripes Matthew 27: 26 Pilate had Jesus flogged Flogged is to beat severely with a whip or rod in Jesus case it was a whip Peter says in 1 Peter 2: 24 Jesus bore our sins in his body on the tree so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness "By his wounds you have been healed" I did not find by Jesus stripes we are healed By his wounds yes, which leads us to think about the flogging he went through, the blows, the stripes he recieved for us God Bless! |
