Subject: Encouragement for the Believer |
Bible Note: Dear T'oma, Isn't it great that the one offering that God will always accept from us is our utter dependence on and need of Him? I believe this is also expressed in the passage of 1 Peter 5 that you cited. The key to why God is like this is in verse 10, "...the God of all grace, Who hath called us unto His eternal glory by Christ Jesus..." I think worry might also be defined, therefore, as a signal that we are doubting what God says about who He is! Further, dependence on anything else (idolatry) ultimately steals from His glory. These are things that God is teaching -- and re-teaching -- me these days. I'm glad you found the words of MacDuff of value. I put these quotes on the forum ("adding to the margin") as I uncover them in my studies and reading. When they are value to me, I hope that others may find them of value as well. In Him, Doc |
