Subject: Encouragement for the Believer |
Bible Note: Doc, I appreciate the “encouraging words” of John R. MacDuff offered to the world in your last posting. It quickened Peter’s exhortation in 1 Peter 5:7 “Cast all (each, every, any) your cares upon Him, because HE cares FOR you”. It helps me realize that every care I might be tempted to carry – doesn’t belong to me and I have no business putting my hands upon them. They belong to Him. If they belonged to me, why would Peter exhort me to CAST ALL UPON HIM? I heard a great definition of worry, years ago. Worry is God’s signal that I am taking on a responsibility that doesn’t belong to me. Thanks for reminding me of what I too often forget. T’oma |
