Bible Question (short): Holy Spirit or holy spirit? |
Question (full): Isaiah 41:17,18, NKJ, "The poor and needy seek water, but there is none, Their tongues fail for thirst. I, the Lord, will hear them; I, the (God) of Israel, will not forsake them. I will open rivers in desolate heights, And fountains in the midst of the valleys; I will make the wilderness a pool of water, And the dry land springs of water." My question comes from comparing these verses with John 7:38,29. In past discussions concerning this verse I have vascillated between several arrangements of capitalization. I would like to settle this before I die.:) I hope that I am getting closer (to settling it). I am still suggesting capitalizing "From His innermost being shall flow rivers of living water." "Let him come to (Me) and drink." Certainly the Isaiah passage would go along with that. I am now leaning toward the Spirit spoken of and the Spirit or "Holy Spirit not yet given" as being properly in lower case. Thus I would think of the living water as being holy spirit.
