Bible Question: In Isaiah 40 vs 29-31. What was happening to Israel as a nation at the time, and why was God not happy with them |
Bible Answer: At thsi exact time Israel is under pressure of attack from Assyria. However I believe this particular passage was written to become a comfort to the nation while in captivity in Babylon. God is angry with Israel because they disobeyed they did not drive out all inhabitants of the land and now just as God had told them they were serving these pagan Gods. Idol worship was the major problem. EdB |
