AMPLIFIED 2015 | Isaiah 14:29 "Do not rejoice, O Philistia, any of you, Because the rod [of Judah] that struck you is broken; For out of the serpent's root will come a viper [King Hezekiah of Judah], And its offspring will be a flying serpent. [2 Kin 18:1, 3, 8] |
Subject: Can you see Jesus in Isa14:29 |
Bible Note: Greetings FierySerpent, I agree with Searcher56; I do not see Jesus in Isaiah 14:29.. The Zondervan NASB Study Bible comments that this 'rod' could be referring to Sargon of Assyria, since Philistine territory was vulnerable to attack by the great empires (Egypt and Assyria) because of its location along the main route from Egypt to Mesopotamia. - Nolan |
