Bible Question (short): Song of Solomon: beloved or Beloved? |
Question (full): As a counter of pronouns of Deity, I was content with the only one found in Song of Solomon. 8:6, "Put me like a seal over your heart, Like a seal on your arm. For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as Shol; Its flashes are flames of fire, The very flame of the Lord." My first question concerns J Preston Eby. Does anyone know who he is? He, according to a personal note in my Bible, has also capitalized "He" in Chapter 3:1-4. That makes a total of 12 which I could also go along with as far as my personal study method is concerned; being divisible by three. 2) My main question is an outcome of listening to J Vernon McGee on the radio this morning, as he is studying the Song of Solomon. He is spiritualizing more of the book than I had considered in the past. Spiritualizing to my mind means capitalizing pronouns. 3) My question for this verse involves capitalization and also the number of pronouns for the verse. Here is my interpretation for what it is worth, and I would like to get comments. Song of Solomon 5:9, "What kind of Beloved is your Beloved, O most beautiful of women? What is your Beloved more than another beloved, That thus you adjure us?" From the heart, Ray |
