Minor correction here, so that we are clearly stated what the Bible actually tells us: Although Solomon disobeyed God's command that the king should "not acquire many wives for himself" (Deuteronomy 17:17), According to the Word, his failing was in a much more significant area. For we are told that "when Solomon was old his wives turned away his heart after other gods, and his heart was not wholly true to the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father."
