This scripture is discussing “spiritual” war. God is spirit and so is Satan. Satan is more afraid of a righteous persons’ prayer than the US military:

James 5:16
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

By prayer we ask God to fight for us. A praying, righteous soldier does not depend on his gun. He depends on God to give him the victory.

Jesus also said here that they that live by the sword shall die by the sword. Jesus told them that He could easily have called down legions of angels to stop His arrest, but He was about to be crucified and it was time. The anti-Christ agenda was being used by the Chief Priests in an effort to destroy Christ. Satan was behind their plans.

Again, this is speaking of “spiritual” armor for spiritual warfare. The anti-Christ agenda is being used by Islamic terrorists today in an effort to destroy Christianity and the Jews. Satan is behind their plans. The good vs. evil battle is more specifically Christ vs. anti-Christ (Rev 12). Here is another scripture:
