Bible Question: GOD BREATH INTO ADAM AND HE BECAME A LIVING SOUL. DO OTHER ANIMALS HAVE THE SAME SOUL AND WILL THEY TOO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO HEAVEN (WILL THEY BE RESSURECTED). IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE BREATH OF A HUMAN AND THAT OF AN ANIMAL? |
Bible Answer: As far as I am aware, we are not told that God breathed life into animals, my understanding is that man is unique in this respect, Please refer to the Scripture verses bellow. Gen 1:24 Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so. Gen 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good. Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all* the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth." Gen 2:7 And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being. 1Th 5:23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Luk 1:46 And Mary said: "My soul magnifies the Lord, Luk 1:47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior. Hbr 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Of all the many, and varied life forms God made, man is unique, as we are tripartite, that is to say having three parts, i.e. spirit, soul, and body. The spirit part of us we often refer to as "the human spirit", and animals do not have the equivalent of this. The human spirit was breathed into the nostrils of Adam, thus enabling intimate communion between God and man. Refer now to, Gen 2:17 "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die." The words "eat of it you shall surely die", is an incorrect translation, and should read, "eat of it dying you shall die", that is to say two deaths, firstly instantaneous and immediate termination of the human spirit, followed in due course by psychical death. This is clearly seen to be the case at 1Cr 2:14 But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Man has to have restored to him what was lost in Adam, and that is Divine regereration, or if you like new birth. I hope that rather long explanation has been of help to you. ebrain. |
