AMPLIFIED 2015 | Ecclesiastes 12:12 But beyond this my son, [about going further than the words given by one Shepherd], be warned: the writing of many books is endless [so do not believe everything you read], and excessive study and devotion to books is wearying to the body. |
Subject: Of Time and Books |
Bible Note: Nolan, my heart is warmed by your kind response to my little "meditation" about the time factor in our lives. The unspeakably evil events of 9/11 speak to all of us about the fragility of our lives on this earth, no matter our age. We have no promise that we will ever see again the sunrise we saw this morning, but we who know the Son do have the promise that we will see Him. In the meantime, just for today, we have no reason to waste our precious gift of time in fear or worry and every reason to be a joyful Christian and serve the Lord, because "this is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." (Psalm 118:24). --Hank |
