Bible Question: What is wrong with this site. I have been a member for about a year now, and have asked several times. "Where is the love and compassion" People are chewed up, spit out, torn to pieces, called names, judged because they asked a question that doesn't measure up to your standards. You belittle them because they are maybe not a scholar such as yourself. Some people, like myself, are just regular church-going people who are trying their best to learn and grow. And all they get is belittled and threatened to be kicked out this wonder, scholar filled site. It is a few wonderful people on this site, but there are also quite a few that I am speaking of and you know who you are with your self-righteous selves. You don't have to threaten to kick me off just do it. But take it to heart. You will answer for your behavior some day. Examine yourselves. Yes I know, I need to examine myself too. -------- winningside |
Bible Answer: Dear winningside, For what it is worth, your posts and input are appreciated! Regardless of whether we agree or disgree on some points. I'm more convinced, the older I get that life is more about HOW we deal with disagreements than avoiding them! One can either choose to be part of the solution- or part of the problem. One of the most repeated (and avoidable)challenges is those who come to the Forum in ignorance. They fly by the seat of their pants. And, by that, I mean they lack knowledge. They fail to read and understand the guidelines and terms of use set by Lockman! Ignorance of the rules is no excuse! With posting comes responsibility- like it or not. So many simply fail to grasp the protocol and flavor of the Forum. Like it or not, it's part of this forum. Failing this, they cry foul! Winningside, having been active on this Forum for some 4-plus years, I've just about seen it all. Are your concerns valid? Certainly, to some extent. As you may be aware, there are those who seek only to disrupt and promote false doctrine. There are many issues that are dealt with and many challenges that have to be overcome. Have they all been handled perfectly- absolutley not! That's part of an imperfect Forum in a fallen world! I'm here for the long haul and view it as a ministry:-) In the same light, I could find many things about my church (and any church) that I could criticize and find fault with. That's the easy part. Being a responsible, contributing member takes work and building repoire with others. That's called people skills, and it may be one of the bigger hurdles to overcome. If you find a perfect forum, don't join it. Yes, I'm accountable to the Lord (Rom. 14:10, 2 Cor. 5:10). I think all who are "regulars" here know and understand this. The door swings both ways though! This, again goes back to the issue of responsibilty... Please continue to lift up the Forum and those who participate. I need your prayers. We need your prayers. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |
