Bible Question: What is wrong with this site. I have been a member for about a year now, and have asked several times. "Where is the love and compassion" People are chewed up, spit out, torn to pieces, called names, judged because they asked a question that doesn't measure up to your standards. You belittle them because they are maybe not a scholar such as yourself. Some people, like myself, are just regular church-going people who are trying their best to learn and grow. And all they get is belittled and threatened to be kicked out this wonder, scholar filled site. It is a few wonderful people on this site, but there are also quite a few that I am speaking of and you know who you are with your self-righteous selves. You don't have to threaten to kick me off just do it. But take it to heart. You will answer for your behavior some day. Examine yourselves. Yes I know, I need to examine myself too. -------- winningside |
Bible Answer: Dear Winningside, Fortunately, we need not discern based on single postings. We can go back and see the full set of anyone's posts, the wisdom or folly preserved since the beginning of the forum. Using this feature, we are able to detect trends in a poster. The most loving thing we can do is to correct their hetredoxy or error. Love isn't about just smiling happily at every wind of doctrine that blows through -- contrary to popular belief. Rebuke -- Biblical rebuke -- is bringing to bear the truth in a specific area for the benefit of the object of our rebuke. Neither is Biblical love just a matter of continuous amicable behavior -- another misconception often taught today. In Him, Doc |
