Bible Note: Hello, Lissamz: Your note is duly noted; your concerns are our concerns; and your hopes for the Forum are also ours, we old timers of the Forum who have persisted for years to insure to the best of our ability that the Forum stay on the track for which it was intended from the first and to be what it was originally designed to be, a "study Bible with unlimited margins," as the Lockman Foundation described it when they envisaged its creation some four years ago. Since that time certain standards for user behavior have been established as the need for them became manifest; they are now in place, along with the means to enforce them. The Forum is not moderated, but it is constantly monitored. This means that individual posts are not read by a moderator in advance of their appearance on the Forum, but they are read and evaluated by a group of monitors who report violations of Forum guidelines to the Lockman Foundation who, in turn, may either warn the offending user to abide by Forum guidelines or, in flagrant cases of abuse, revoke the user's privilege to make any additional posts to the Forum. .... In adddition to this, each and every registrant is empowered to report to the Lockman Foundation any other user who does not follow the user guidelines that are published on the web site. This is done by activating the word "Abuse" shown in blue at the right of the ID# for each post. It has always been the policy of the Forum to encourage all users (1) to become familiar with the Forum guidelines, (2) to follow the guidelines, and (3) to report those who do not. Thanks for your well-considered observations and appropriate suggestions. We should all of us take them to heart and act upon them. God's blessings to you, Lissa. We value your participation on Study Bible Forum. --Hank |
