I'm a having a lot of bad luck or weekness in quitting smoking... I try to quit but the devil is winning that battle, I was a smoker befor i was saved and now I've quit a lot ie..drinking ..bars...the whole sinful life style but I have yet been able to quit smoking..I try give it to the lord in prayer and I try patches..gum.. and the hypnoses....what can I do..because of this i can't be a very good wittness? I know this isn't a bible question but I only hear take it to the lord.. can anyone tell me anything differnt? |
Bible Answer: I'm guessing that you really don't want to quit, but rather you think you need to. When you decide to quit you will. What can force you to decide is to make yourself accountable to Christian friends. Proverbs 15:22 Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established. Proverbs 1:5 A wise man will hear and increase learning, And a man of understanding will attain wise counsel, Proverbs 11:14 Where there is no counsel, the people fall; But in the multitude of counselors there is safety. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise. Proverbs 24:6 For by wise counsel you will wage your own war, And in a multitude of counselors there is safety. Don't be embarrassed, we were all sinners before being saved. In fact the only difference now is that we are forgiven because of our continual repentance. So just tell them your story and ask them to help. And of course continue praying (Luke 18:1-6) |
